I have blogged before about people doing their “best” or “worst” in order to promote the cause they are promoting.

Well it seems that one Czech artist, a certain David Cerny (and probably the person who commissioned him to do the work) may have run into trouble with the whole of Europe with his latest offering entitled Entropa.

He has unveiled an art installation to promote the European Union that was meant to have been the work of 27 artists from each of the various European counties.

The work was supposed to counter some of the national stereotypes that people have in Europe about each other and the country they come from.

However, it all seems to have been part of one big Hoax By David Cerny who first came to the attention of the mainstream public when he painted a Monument to Soviet tank crews (pdf) in Prague..

Well if the people who commissioned him to do the project had visited his website and looked around a little more carefully at some his past art exhibitions then perhaps they would have seen the Giganticbuyer beware” sign :P .
