I was watching the news today about MP’s expenses and listening intently to all the weasly excuses about how all they were claiming was what they were entitled to under the rules, as if they really believed that it was ok to claim for dog food, swimming pool repairs and tennis court water supply repairs to name but a few examples.
In another ridiculous example shadow skills minister Mr Willetts (Tory) billed the taxpayer for workmen to replace 25 light bulbs at his second home. read the full story here
I was getting concerned that they were all at it but then a little ray of light shone out from all the pomposity.
The ray of light was a certain John Mann MP (Labour) who has been trying (since last year) to persuade his ” fellow” members of parliament that the expenses system needs a radical overhaul.
His reward for sticking up for us taxpayers has been that many of his fellow ”honourable” members have simply refused to speak to him anymore which it seems does not bother him one bit.

And then just when you thought it could not get any worse … those same money grabbing MP’s choose this time to let us know that they are “kindly” increasing the National minimum wage by between 0.04p & 0.07p per hour. … Lovely, that extra £2.40 a week will go towards the maintenance of my Helipad
