The smallest country in the western hemisphere was devastated by an earthquake 1 month ago today.
A massive 25% of the Haitian society was lost in literally a few minutes and even now a month on the majority of people are still living under sheeets tied to bits of wood, getting by on meagre rations and worrying about how they are going to survive the coming rainy season which will then be followed by the hurricane season.
More people (217’000) have died in this single movement of the earth than died due to the 2004 Asian Tsunami.
Aid has “supposedly” been pouring in and millions have been donated by people all over the world, however, so far it has made very little difference with families still only getting by on a small amount of rations.
Coming after the worldwide scare caused by the swine flu virus (which “they” said would decimate societies all over the planet) it puts into perspective just what it is we should be worried about. In fact the news headlines in the UK today led with the fact that a few people, had to get by without food and water for a few hours because of the Eurotunnel being closed, due to the wrong kind of snow !!
Get a grip people !!!!
